Left on Latham was formed in early 2007 by two founding members of SKETCH ALLEY. Jeff and Dan, the original guitarist and drummer of Sketch Alley met lead guitarist Don through mutual friends. It was reported that Don could shred on the guitar and was looking for a new band. We met Don, jammed for several hours and the foundation of Left on Latham was born. The band went through a period of auditioning bass players looking for the right fit. Then, in April of 2007, Brand-o cometh.
Brand-o was the original singer of Sketch Alley and also played bass with our other project, Hung Jury. Just prior to Hung Jury imploding in late 2006, Brand-o left the band for bigger and better things. However, when he heard of the new incarnation, he returned to us......bass in hand. Brand-o is good, really good. But he sings too damn good to just play bass. So, he made the decision to put down his axe and sing lead only. We were back to looking for a bass player. In early 2008, we found Johnny. With fast fingers and a flare for bitchen bass runs, John fit the bill. After a short run with the band, Johnny decided to focus on his growing family and leave us, so we were back to looking for a bass player again. Dean joined the band in early 2009. His pro-style bass playing and feel for the rythm was a perfect fit for the band. However, Dean was pulling double duty and playing with two bands. Scheduling conflicts forced us to seek another bass player less than a year after finding Dean.
In November, 2009 We found Perry. Perry is an awesome bass player and a super nice guy. He clicks with everyone in the band and is a real asset to our group. Perry had played with our lead guitarist Don in another project many years ago. Perry is an acomplished musician who plays bass guitar and the pedal steal guitar. We look forward to many years and many gigs with Perry.
We decided to shed our old band name as part of a new beginning, sort of a fresh start. With a whole new bass player, a re-vamped set list, and a whole new attitude, we went back into rehearsals and came out even tighter! The new band, LEFT ON LATHAM is now stronger than ever and ready to kick your ass with rock covers from the 60's up to today. We pride ourselves on covering songs with musical chops as close to the original artist as possible. Check us out at our next show!
